The Polar Express
Polar Express pictures
Last night we went to ride the Polar Express in Heber. We went 3 years ago and this was so much better. Jake was so excited. Before we went we watched the movie and read the book several times so that Jake would understand what was going to happen. They follow the storyline very closely. You ride to the North Pole and see Santa. On the ride there they read the book, they punched our tickets, they gave us hot chocolate and cookies, and Mrs. Claus comes by to visit and give a cookie recipe. Then on the ride back we sang songs, listened to the elves tell jokes, Jake and Kurt went up to say Ho Ho Ho, and we got a surprise visit from Santa. Santa gives all the kids bells like in the book. He was really cute with the kids and made sure that they could hear the bell ringing and that they believed. Jake was so excited when we saw Santa outside waiting to get on the train. Most of the kids wear their PJ’s. Jake’s jammies that I bought for him this fall shrank a ton in the wash. So I got him new jammies to wear for the train ride. Jake loved every minute of it except he kept saying it is not Christmas yet we haven’t had Thanksgiving (he says the same thing when he see the Christmas lights on in our neighborhood). We have taught him well. Thanks Sylvia for the free tickets. We LOVED it! And thanks to Grandma Camille for watching Josh so we could enjoy our train ride!
