Volunteers at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Kurt and I had a wonderful opportunity to serve at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. We got to do two shifts because there were not enough people to sign up in our ward. So we were there for 8 hours. The first 4 hours I was outside at tent #3 handing out pamphlets to the people as they were being seated to watch the short movie. This was fun because I got to do it with two other sisters in our ward. We talked while we were waiting to seat people. Then for the last 4 hours I got to be in the Celestial Room. It was so fun to see people walk in and go “Wow, this is so beautiful”. I even got to answer a few questions on what the Celestial Room is for and point out some of the beautiful things. I loved watching the kids come in and seeing moms and dad explain that this room looks like heaven. I did get some questions that I didn’t know the answer to like “Is this where the prophet stands for the dedication? or Who made the glass chandelier and how many light bulbs are in it? It was peaceful and quiet standing there admiring this beautiful room. Kurt got to do parking outside all day. He did get to drive the little golf cart (which he loved), and talk to some people in our ward to help make time go a little bit faster. We loved being there all day and were totally exhausted when we got home!
